Long before Sonja became a household name from her television appearances, she was a “mover and shaker” among New York City high-rollers and international jet-setters. Sonja was working towards her bachelor’s in marketing at The Fashion Institute of Technology and in-between her studies, she traveled the globe as a fashion model and actress. While making her home base New York City she also lived and worked in California, Colorado, Italy, and France. Sonja was voted Top 21 Best Dressed at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week by New York Magazine 2011 and was a Weekly Star Magazine Fashion Critic. After pursuing fashion retailing and wholesale in New York’s Garment District, Sonja became a Restaurant/Hotel and Fashion Luxury Brand Consultant for top establishments across the country. Whether representing an Italian custom tailor or consulting a new hot spot for Donald Trump, Sonja was the go to “it girl.” Her international client-base relied on the expertise and guidance she provided. Sirio Maccioni of Le Cirque said “very few people have her talent in our business.” In fact John H. Mariani, author and Food and Travel Correspondent for Esquire Magazine, labeled her as “The Straw that Stirs the Drink” in the early 90’s. This is a moniker that still holds true today across the storyboards of Sonja’s life and career.
Quest magazine features Sonja for having the pulse of what’s in and out and delivering it to her international clients. Sonja is featured in photo’s with her paramours ex fiancé Count Pier Francesco, Douglas Taylor, and Tony O’Reilly Jr.

Sonja has been named favorite NY Housewife on Watch What Happens Live by Andy Cohen, favorite Housewife of the entire franchise by Tina Fey, made Perez Hilton’s All Time Favorite Housewives List and is an NBC All Star. Sonja’s keen eye for business opportunities led her to The Real Housewives of NYC, the highest rated franchise and only international Housewife show on Bravo in 128 countries. She initially turned down the offer to join season one’s cast on the hit reality show, but joined two years later for the third season. October 2017 Sonja commenced filming season 10. Sonja has been in the NBC Universal family for over 10 years and has been invited year after year to the advertising upfronts and is considered a most relatable housewife.
Prior to joining The Real Housewives of New York City, Sonja had been writing her biographical screenplay, a la Candace Bushnell’s Sex in The City, and produced her multi-million dollar film, The Marsh, starring Oscar winner Forest Whitaker of The Last King of Scotland and Gabrielle Anwar of the Tudors and Burn Notice. She recently produced and stars in Arthouse film The Man in The Attic in 2017 starring Audrey Hepburn’s grand daughter and Jennifer Lopez’s sister. By partnering with Bravo of NBC Universal, and going back in front of the camera unscripted Sonja is now part of the most successful commercial vehicle on television today.

In 2016 Sonja took the stage in the longest running comedy Off Broadway Sex Tips for Straight Women by a Gay Man alongside only 2 other actors showing her comedic delivery scripted. Her cameo in Amy Poehlers award winning Difficult People drew alot of attention towards her inimitable comedic style as well. As a young professional, Sonja broke off her six-year engagement with Italian Count Pierfrancesco, who she lived with between Rome, Italy, and Park Avenue, Manhattan. The tabloids covered her escapades with famous and influential men, including Prince Albert of Monaco, comedian Richard Lewis, rock legend Eric Clapton and tennis star John McEnroe. It was with banker John Adams Morgan, descendant of financier J.P. Morgan and U.S. Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams, that Sonja met her match. Their “merger” resulted in a seven-year business relationship, a decade long marriage and a beautiful daughter, now 17 years old.

Sonja is an outspoken advocate for the arts, children, animals, and LGBTQ community. Charities she’s involved with include New Yorker’s for Children, The Princess Grace Foundation, Jeffrey Fashion Cares, ASPCA and GLAAD. She was honored alongside Mira Sorvino, Vanessa Noel as a “Singular Sensation” at the St. Regis Hotel in 1995 and several other times since for her philanthropic contributions. In 2011, Sonja was awarded the Broadway Speaks Out Hero Award that benefits the Ali Fornay Center for her continuous support towards the LGBTQ youth. Sonja has been on the board of American Friends of Blérancourt the only French American Museum in the world, for more than 19 years. Blerancourt is Anne Morgan, the daughter of JPM’s Chateau outside Paris that she donated to France as a historical museum and symbol of a French American alliance. Sonja enjoys spending time with her daughter, and family and friends, gardening, cooking, entertaining, skiing, tennis, ice skating, traveling and learning new cultures.
